From your .rbxl
to a game that sells
Six steps, about ten minutes. You need Roblox Studio (free) and your Roblox account.
-
Open it in Roblox Studio
Double-click the .rbxl file you downloaded. It opens in Roblox Studio. No Studio yet? Get it here (free).

Press Play
Press the Play button at the top. Your game runs: the map, the buttons, the shop, everything.
- Buying something with Robux here is a free test. A box says "Test purchase" and you get the item. No Robux are spent.
- Press F4 while playing: the Shop setup list shows what your shop sells. The same list is in Workspace > Products.

Turn on saving in Studio (optional)
Published games always save. To save while you test in Studio too: File > Experience Settings > Security, turn on Enable Studio Access to API Services, then Save.

Set up your shop
In Studio, open Workspace > Products (the first script in Workspace). It lists everything your game sells, with its price and what it gives. Then open Creator Hub, click your game, then Monetization.
- Passes (things bought once, like VIP): click Create a Pass for each pass in Products. Copy
the pass's ID and paste it in Products after
Id =, instead of the0. - Developer Products (things players buy again and again, like gem packs): click Create for each one in Products. Use exactly the same name and price. That's all: the game finds them by their name (pasting their ID works too).

the pass's ID and paste it in Products after

Go live
In Studio: File > Publish to Roblox again. Your shop is live and selling.
Not done with every item yet? No problem: until something has its ID, players simply don't see it. Nothing ever looks broken.
Questions
Do I get Robux when people buy things?
Roblox pays creators a share of the Robux players spend in your game. Roblox decides how much and when.
What is a test purchase?
In Studio, buying something before it's set up on Roblox shows a "Test purchase" box. Say yes and you get the item, so you can try the whole shop. It only happens in Studio and never costs Robux.
Players can't see some items in my shop
Those items don't have their ID yet. Make them on Creator Hub (step 5), paste the pass IDs in Workspace > Products and publish again.
Prefer the plugin?
The BloxMaps plugin rebuilds a map or UI into a place you already have. For a whole new game, the .rbxl is the quickest way.
